Founded in 1986, the New Hampshire Campus Safety Academy is the first program in the country specializing in preparing non-sworn campus public safety and security officers for the challenges presented on college and secondary school campuses. The curriculum is designed to provide officers with the theoretical and practical skills required to manage the many aspects of their positions. Course offerings, materials and instructional staff are evaluated annually to ensure officers have the best learning experience possible.
The Academy is a non-profit program and is run under the auspices and direction of the New Hampshire Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (NHACLEA). It promotes the ideals of service, integrity and continuous professional development to best serve our campuses.
Enrollment is open to all proprietary safety and security personnel from secondary and post-secondary academic institutions in and outside of New Hampshire.
NHACLEA was awarded the Northeast Colleges and Universities Security Association (NECUSA) Professional Achievement Award in 2000 for the academy curriculum and program.
